Welcome to
Ocean City, Maryland

By Capt. Mark Sampson

I was a just a small kid back in the 1960’s when I cast my first line into the waters that surround Ocean City, and while I don’t recall if I caught anything that day, I do know that it was then that I became hooked on this town and acquired the passion for fishing that would shape my life, provide a home, a career, and keep me fishing the waters of the Delmarva Peninsula for over 40-years. From the distant offshore canyons that hold massive tuna and marlin to the quiet coves of the backwater bays and marshes that are home to striped bass, flounder, and redfish, the mid-Atlantic waters are both versatile and extremely productive for those who know how to fish them.

Millions of visitors can’t be wrong! Even without the fishing, Ocean City’s beautiful beaches, attractions, and family oriented atmosphere bring millions to the resort every year. But throw in the beautiful inshore and offshore waters and all the fish that reside within and you’ve got just about the most perfect place to be for all but the coldest months of the year. And that’s why for more than 40-years Ocean City has been both home and headquarters for my fishing operations. The welcome mat is out in the spring, summer, and fall for anglers who would like to join me aboard one my boats for a bay or ocean fishing adventure.
