Inshore Light Tackle

Aboard the Fish'n Fly

There’s a new girl in our fleet! Meet the Fish’n Fly a 17 Maverick flats skiff who would just love for you to take her out on a date. Designed specifically for stealthy shallow water fishing, Maverick skiffs have a reputation for being the perfect delivery platform to put anglers within casting range of spooky fish in mere inches of water.

Fast, quiet, and equipped with both a push pole and an electric motor to ensure a silent approach to your target species, the Fish’n Fly is capable of comfortably whisking two anglers and your guide (Capt. Mark Sampson) to fishing areas inaccessible to most other boats.

The Fish’n Fly will be stationed in Ocean City from May-December and in the Florida Keys February-April. But she’ll always be loaded on a trailer and ready to travel anywhere from Delaware to South Florida and sneak anglers into almost any inshore waters where the fish are biting best.

Ocean City Maryland (May-December)

4, 6, & 8 hour trips are available to anglers wishing to use conventional or fly tackle to fish for striped bass, bluefish, redfish, speckled trout, & sharks in our upper and lower coastal bay waters. These trips have us fishing the shallow waters of the beautiful marshes, cuts, and creeks far away from the crowds. We do not fish the congested downtown waters of Ocean City's Rt 50 bridge and inlet areas and we do not fish for flounder. These are somewhat technical fishing trips which involves casting (lures or flys) to fish in 2-5 feet of water and it's not uncommon to actually see the fish swimming in the shallow water before even casting to them. Beginning anglers are always welcome but this type of fishing requires at least some level of accurate casting skills to be successful. Fly and spin casting lessons can be arranged prior to fishing if necessary.

Florida Keys (March-April)

In late winter and early spring we’ll be down in Florida and offering anglers the opportunity to fish with us in the world-famous waters of the lower Keys.

We’re happy to guide both conventional and fly anglers over the beautiful flats of the Florida Keys.

Tarpon, bonefish, permit, redfish, barracuda, jacks, and snapper are just a few of the fish we encounter on the shallow flats that surround this tropical Island paradise. And if you like sharks, oh yea - the Keys is the place to be! From 3-foot bonnetheads to 12-foot great hammerheads, lemons of all sizes, blacktips, blacknose, and monster bulls, the calm shallow waters of the back-country is absolutely loaded with big predators that are just waiting for you to come down and play!
